Our vacuums play an important role in keeping our homes clean, but have you ever thought about how to clean your Dyson vacuum filter? Don’t worry, you are not alone!
In this post, we are going to show you how to clean your Dyson vacuum.
How to Clean Dyson Filter
Dyson vacuum cleaner is designed for ease of use and easy maintenance. To keep your machine running at maximum operating efficiency, Dyson recommends you clean the filter at least once a month.
Reminder:
• Do not put the filter in a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, microwave, or near an open flame
• Do not use detergent in washing your filter.
Step 1. Remove your Dyson vacuum filter
Ensure that the device is disconnected from the charger before trying to remove the filter. Watch out not to activate the trigger.
Remove the filter by lifting it out of the top of the machine.
Step 2. Remove excess dust
To remove loose dust and debris, gently tap your filter(s) on the side of the sink or in the trash can.
Step 3. Rinse your filter
Use cold tap water to clean your filter(s) and rub it gently with your hands. Run the water over the filter’s outer surface until it runs clear.
Do not use detergents.
Step 4. Give your filter a firm shake
Fill up your filter(s) with warm tap water. Using your hands, cover the ends and shake firmly to remove dirt.
Repeat this process until the water runs clear and shake the filter vigorously to remove any excess water.
Step 5. Leave your filter to dry
It is recommended that you let the filter(s) dry for at least 24 hours in an area with plenty of airflow, such as beside a fan or open window.
You must completely dry your filter(s) before you put them back in the machine, or it could damage the motor.
You should touch the filter to check for moisture before reinstalling it.
Step 6. Refit your filter
To refit, place the dry filter back into the top of the machine. Make sure it is seated properly.
